The Busseys community tree grant contributes towards the Norfolk County Council’s net zero target. It will enhance valuable green space for local people to enjoy. New woodland and trees outside of woodland will help to improve nature recovery, providing multiple ecosystem services such as health and wellbeing, clean air, and food.
Busseys is providing £10,000 to support anyone in Norfolk looking to plant trees that deliver a community benefit. The maximum grant per application is £2,500.
Busseys are proud to be associated with these projects, not only helping to care for the environment, but to also preserve our local heritage and help educate and inspire the next generation. Thank you to all our customers who have made this initiative possible.
Here are some of the projects we’ve helped so far:
Lakenham Primary School
Lakenham Primary School are one of the first to secure a Busseys Tree Community Grant.
They will be using the grant to plant 10 trees, transforming and enriching their green spaces while contributing to the advancement of their Nature School Programme.
William Downes, a dedicated teacher at Lakenham School, shared his perspective, stating, “Lots of children in our local community do not have access to green spaces. In fact, some children rely on our growing area and our trees for those very experiences. We teach outdoor learning to each class once a week. This gives children who struggle to learn in classrooms the opportunity to learn in a different way, in a different environment.”
It is great to see how the tree grant will positively impact our community.
